Invoice would be $45636.07 currently before rebates, sticker $51140. Ford does increase price a little bit throughout the year, but once you're ready to put the order in the dealer can use the C09 option to lock in the invoice cost (doesn't affect rebates). The price you showed looks like it included Max tow, but it didn't add the cost of the motor, that would put you right about there. You need the Max Tow (53C) to get the factory brake controller. The regular tow package (53A) does not include it. What may be happening when you're building the truck is you select the max tow with brake controller first, then if you see "trailer tow package" it shows $0, because you are already getting all of that in the more expensive pack.
Ouch..I might need to rethink the 302 and consider the 301 package and maybe the 2.7. Trying to keep the price out the door close to 40K. Not planning to tow much so the 2.7 should have plenty of power.
I'l have to double the check if the cheap 40 C 40 option is console shift. I'll be honest I mostly deal with XL stuff, so the "Fancy" trucks I don't deal with on a daily basis. Frankly, I absolutely hate the center console and the shifter. I find the shifter clunky and the whole console is annoying. I'd much rather have a fold down seat. But options are good cause each person has their own taste!
The 2.7 is pretty awesome. But yeah, if you want 40k then you'll have to knock some things off. Sounds like you can probably get away without the trailer brake controller too though...
Nowhere will you see that the console shifter on an XLT only comes with the Sport package. It's not on the Ford website. I found out by looking at trucks on the lot. A regular XLT optioned with a center console will still have a column shifter. With the console shifter you also get the Sport Mode for the transmission. With a 302A package, an XLT Sport also has 10 way power seats with heat. It's almost like getting a Lariat with cloth seats.
XLT with the chrome package does not get a console shifter. The XLT console option gets a center console and a little storage tray where the shifter would otherwise be mounted.
Another silly thing, you can only get a Max Payload package with a 40/20/40 seat, even in a Lariat.

I can concur on the console shifter arrangement.
It's first world problems, I know, but the shifter is too big for what it needs to do and the drink holder is a decent reach. Kind of annoying.
I would choose column shift and have the drinks closer to me, but that would be in a perfect world.

Hmmm. I would have thought the buckets with the shifter on the console were more popular. That is my current setup in my Tundra and seems to feel and look real sporty. Maybe I need to rethink this option. So the higher end units like the Lariat don't mostly come configured this way??

Mine is a Lariat.
Not sure I would call this console shift arrangement "sporty"... More upper end luxury maybe.
In theory it's a neat idea, in practice it doesn't work that well. Then again I'm used to column shift Super Dutys
In California a couple dealers here are running 2015 F150 for $35,700. Gosch Ford in Temecula and Hemet. Why don't you look and compare. Not sure when the OP lives. They have the 2.7 ecoboost, seems to be several around

I know of one XLT, 301a pkg, 4x4 max tow package, 36 gal tank. It is a 2015 in Silver that was just delivered last week (yes last week) to Bishop Ford in Bishop, CA. I passed on it when I ordered my 2016 but it is in stock. E88511 is the truck stock number.
Good luck!!!!!
Lots of people do love it. I don't buy into the notion of "it's standard on expensive stuff so it must be better" though. It does "look" better and sportier, but I just don't care for it's functionality or actual feel compared to the regular seat. But that doesn't mean you won't like it more, or that you'll be wrong for liking it more!
Not sure Cali laws, as I rant about most, different states have different laws. And advertised price comparison between dealerships based on online pricing is probably the easiest way to pay the same amount (or more) and give bad advertising practices more momentum for how things go. I'd rather see honest pricing than a bunch of unexpected fees and cost, but often the biggest fibbers get the deal when folks assume we are all fibbing the same. With that, I don't blame the dealerships that do it because 1. It works, and 2. if the guy down the street does it, you have to do it. I'm just morally glad PA is a bit more stringent on how folks can advertise (though I still cringe at some fine print I see and hear).
I just ordered a 2016 F250 yesterday and the rebates were only around $3000, will they increase a lot more before mine comes in? If so I wonder how much?
edit. Just checked some local dealer window stickers online and found several that have the 40 console 40 option for $295 that were ordered with the chrome appearance package. I think that gets you the bucket seats with center console shifter. If not what does it get you??
I believe that an XLT chrome package with the bucket seats and center console gets you the shifter on the column, not in the console. To get the shifter in the console, you have to go with the Sport model...
Rebates are currently showing good till April 4th. My hunch is they will go up, but you never know. In the mean time, it doesn't hurt to try everything you can to get some coupons and just hope they come in with a good date during the time the truck shows up!
