I did a conversion on a 68 using a 75 or 76 column and had a lot of trouble with the wiring until I read a post about how the brakes and turn signals work together. Then it was just a matter of connecting the right wires.
Now everything works right, but you have to turn on both the glove box hazzard and column hazzard to get the hazzards to work.
I did see a tilt column 4 speed in a 78 or 79 come through my shop back in the 80s. The thing was broke and we couldn't find parts anywhere or another column. He ended up with a junkyard non tilt much to his dismay.
Did you happen to write down the wiring connections on that swap? I sure could use that information right about now. I am swapping a 78 tilt column into my 68 F-100
