The only time my '05 saw a flatbed was when I had it towed to PSE for the engine work. I figured I already drove 700 miles home with a leaking EGR cooler and clogged oil cooler, I didn't want to push my luck and have it hydrolock on me.
Not sure, went into limp mode leaving the house. Went to ruff idle and then cut off. I know it needs an oil cooler so I havent been driving it. I was actually taking it to a friend who was going to buy it because he works on 6.0s and I was selling it cheap. The flatbed was actually bringing it back to my house so I can try to figure out what is going on. I suspect it is FICM related.
In the past I would have agreed, however learning what I have and how relatively simple (but tedious) the 6.0 fixes are... Next one I get is going to have the 6.0. Considering what I have planned for it and how all my vehicles end up making at least double the original power figures, the 6.0 is better suited transmission-wise.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my 7.3, but if I had put the same amount of time and money into a 6.0.... wooooo buddy that thing'd be damn quick!
Hey Csnow, where are you located? Someone on here might give you more for the rig than your buddy... just a thought
I am in San Antonio, TX. I bought the truck to do a 12v swap as a project but I just dont have the time. I have a 96 2500 12v 4x4 5 speed with 145k that I restored, (2) 7.3 2000 4x4 Excursions (will never get rid of), and a C6 vette (midlife crisis). My wife has said enough...lol. The 6.0 is the one hitting the road. I don't care to have fast trucks, the vette has heads, cam, yada yada and that is the fun toy. My diesels priorities are not pulling a cab to work on and not worrying if I skip a maint interval or getting a bad batch of fuel. I would rather sink $5k to BTS vs bullet proofing. I also like the idea I can get a 7.3 junkyard engine for $2k if and when either of my two dies. The 7.3 is simple, stupid, and cheap. I have a bad habit of being a Craigslist whoe and the wife said the driveway looks like the Beverly Hillbillies

You did Razzi, but since Matt is power happy and understands the repairs I don't think it's a hard sell.
He did poke fun at my 6.0 for awhile until I took him for a ride and mashed it. Then there was that time we raced and I think that's when it sunk in.
Btw, if you didn't see one of my posts in another thread. It's turbo time for me and I'll be one step closer to being as cool as you. Well....my truck being as almost as cool as yours.

At NHRDA events, I was always amazed at how much faster SteveBricks (RIP my friend) six-oh was compared to my 7.3 when all he had (basically) was a tune.
That was back in 2010 I believe, and that's when the 6.0 started getting hooked on my brain.
