Has anyone removed the factory applied decals from their truck? Looking to purchase an F350 off the lot to take advantage of the rebates, and I want one with the off road package, among other options. But I do not want the decals on the truck. I want to take them off but not mess the paint up on a new truck. What has anyone else done? What works and what does not work? Thanks
This is important only because yes most factory decals can be removed with any number of 3M products, mostly the liquid variety that dissolve or greatly soften the vinyl and adhesive. The problem becomes on "older" vehicles paint surrounding the original decals will have faded a bit leaving the underlying finish bright and brand new-looking.
Sometimes a small bit of wet sanding and polishing the bedside etc helps but after a few years such artifacts are tough to disguise or eliminate.

It will be brand new. I may ask the dealer to remove them before I sign on the dotted line
Back in 1976 I orderd/bought a brand spanking new Ford Pinto. Yes, I said Pinto. I had it written in my purchase agreement that on delivery the car was to display no dealer advertising.
On the day the car was ready for delivery to me I refused to accept it because, sure enough it had a dealer decal on the tail panel.
They hemmed and hawed until I told them to read the contract. I do not know what they used, but that decal was off in no time flat!
I'm the same way in that I will not have a dealer logo on my vehicle. And now that I learned that we pay for advertisement in the cost of a new vehicle, all the more reason. Granted the need to make money but the adv cost is a lot.
I also had a 77 Pinto wagon although I bought it used. It was perfect for transporting my radio controlled air plane.
