Speedometer gear change

im putting 215 75 R15s on my 94 ford ranger 2wd 2.3 5sp manual.i know this will mess up my speedo because it had 195s on it before. now if im correct other rangers have 215 tires though i dont know if they were on 2wd models with my gearing. if they did could i not just go to ford and get the speedometer gear for a 94 ranger 2wd with 215 tires and hopefully the same gearing as mine?thanks for any suggestions on how to correct the readings

Speedo gears don't work like that. The different gears are made to match different rear end gear ratios. I don't think you are increasing tire height enough to have a big problem. You will probably onlt be a few miles per hour off.

Here is a chart that has the correct gears for the tranny.

Its one bolt on the tranny to access the gear.
