Post Exhaust manifold

On my 89 F250 460, my passenger exhaust manifold has come off of the rear cylinder, one came out and one has sheared off. One question, why would this happend, and two what is the best and easiest way to get this fixed (I am doing this myself)? Also, where can I find accurately sized and an accurate grade bolt for this application?

Thanks

Are you saying a bolt broke off in the cylinder head?
If you are, you have to find a way to get the broken part out.
Try an easy out, or if it’s sticking out a bit try a vise grip.
I’ve heard of people welding nuts on the broken part sticking out, than just turn the nut out, thus takes the bolt out.
If one bolt broke than I suggest you take them all out and get new ones.
Contact ARP I think they’ll have some real nice manifold bolts.

I think I may have been wrong, ARP makes header bots, but I don’t think they make bolts for stock exhaust manifolds.
They should have them at the ford dealer, or if you just want one bolt get it at the junkyard, but than your at risk of it breaking again.
It’s up to you what you want to do, I‘ll bet you have to buy the set at the dealer, but than you can change all the bolts.
Sorry for the mix up

I would say an hour for each side, maybe a little longer for the passenger’s side because it’s harder to get to. It also may take longer if you have trouble with some bolts.
