Unhappy 03 Expedition 4.6 Oil Leak/Overheat

hello, I own a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6 and it's leaking oil from the left side of the engine where the catalytic converter is located. It leaves puddles on the ground like usual. But more than average. Another thing, it overheats too. That's a weird thing that happen. I'm curious on whats happening. What I've done is that I replaced the thermometer before because it was busted. Flushed out the old anti-freeze, and put new one in. After that, it started to smoke really bad and noticed that oil was coming out already. So that's where i checked under the vehicle and seeing that there's oil from before and oil coming down hot. I have no idea what is going on. Either new head gaskets i need to get or a cracked engine. Any clues please?

I own a a 98 Exped with 01 5.4 230k+. Passenger side of 5.4L's and 4.6 Roms are known to leak from head gasket coming from rear pass and front driver. Seeing that they are struck from the same mold. There is tons of information on the 97 to 2006 Expedition section https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum27 . Most of it helpful and some of it not. Just do a quick search. Ford has not owned up to it and not fully sure if by 03 they fully fixed it. They did do an improved head gasket for these motors. Also check your vavle cover bolts. If tighting down those bolts just a little helps. It is a gasket it. If your starter is covered in oil good chance it is head gasket. Job is no walk in the park, but it can feel like a walk from the Mason-Dixon line to Georgia. From what I have been reading it can be done with motor in vehicle. You will be taking basically the whole front of motor apart and of course the whole top end out. Unless there is a magical way of going about this that has been missed. I will be attempting this job myself soon. Best of luck to you!
