An interesting conversion

I never did care for the 'stack through the deck' approach but I like the rest of it. Interesting motor choice.

I came out of the Lowes in Wake Forest one morning and saw an outstanding use of an old 40s cabover cab on a newer 6 wheel diesel powered chassis.

I agree, I aint wasting bed space on a big chrome pipe. There are a couple locals that have em in pickup beds.

That Deutz is indeed interesting. I see there's no radiator. I wonder how the heater works?

This engine is air cooled. There is no radiator on this engine. There iss only the hot air from the engine to heat the cab

In Germany we had in the 60´a lot of trucks with air cooled engines. When i was in the army, i drove a KHD (Kloekner Humbold Deutz) Jupiter crane truck. I was V8 wiht a multi-fuel engine...

You can set up an oil heat exchanger in the heater box, it'll work better than stock as oil is typically 220-240.
Very durable and economical engine though-
