!!HELP!! 2007 Super Duty need the best Ford minds for door lock/ keyless entry problem

I just bought a 2007 F-250 Super duty that was jacked up on 37's. Had to have the truck and got a good deal. However, the truck has a past and the vin has been changed and the previous owner bought the truck from a rebuilder. All I got with the truck is a single key for the truck and is not a ford key but a copy. No key fobs. The initial problem is the door locks don't work on either side and do not respond at all with a click or sound of any kind. So I thought I would get a key fob, program it, and try the remote. The truck wont enter into programming mode so at this point I don't know if it even has keyless entry option on the truck. I have no clue where to start since this is my first Ford and Diesel. I assume since the lock buttons and I cant get it into programming mode that maybe they are related and if I fix one ill fix the other. I have checked the fuses and they have power. I do not know if it ever had a aftermarket keyless entry but at this point I would think anything is possible but would think at least the door buttons should still work. Any help pointing me in the right direction would help. I have tried the correct programming mode procedure and tested all fuses in the truck with no luck. Also note the truck does NOT have a key pad on the side.

Have you been to a dealer to talk to them about this?

BUT, I must ask why was the VIN changed? The only reason to do this is to try and hide a stolen vehicle. But there are hidden VIN's on these and ALL newer vehicles. You need to call your local LE and have them come and look this vehicle over. BEFORE you get pulled over and the VIN switch is discovered on the side of the road and someone screws a pistol into your ear. B.

Yep it was stolen

The truck was stolen and the vin number was ripped off so in order for it to be legally put back on the road the truck had to go through a licensed rebuilder to be rebuilt and put back on the road. The truck is now legal but I have a lock problem. Not sure if it he to do with it being stolen or if something else. I dont want to take it to a stealer if I can fix it myself.

Without the combo pad, it's doubtful this truck has keyless entry.
But if I'm reading this correctly, your locks don't work at all? Are you able to push the door lock buttons down to lock and pull them up to unlock manually? If they do lock, can you lock/unlock with the key? BTW, if there is a door lock cylinder on the passenger door, the truck never had keyless entry as this lock is deleted with that option.
Additionally, how many doors does the truck have? Do the locks all work the same way?

The truck is a XLT its a four door truck and yes I can lock and unlock all doors manually from the inside and the door lock cyclinders do work with a key. The lock unlock button doesn't work. There is a door cyclinder lock on the passenger side but my buddies truck has the door lock cyclinder on the passenger side and is keyless entry. Now mine may not be keyless entry but the button on the inside should at least work. There is a lock/unlock button on the drivers and passengers door but neither respond at all.

Go to this Ford website, click on the "Vehicle" tab at top and enter your VIN.....and then see if it was built with RKE

It doesn't say if it has a RKE. Says nothing about it at all. Shows all the stuff it has and doesn't have but nothing about RKE.

It does say " less door entry remote control unit, less keyless entry system, with central locking system"

So if that means it doesn't have the remote door entry control unit how hard is it to have it put in? Can I go to a junk yard buy one and install it into plugs under dash somewhere?

If it's not remote surely the locking system should still work wth the buttons? What do I do or check next?

I would have thought that with a replaced VIN that it wouldn't show anything about how your truck was originally configured. Do you know what the original VIN was on the truck -- it should be stamped in several locations; firewall, etc.

Maybe the VIN is the original number on a replacement tag? Sounds more reasonable than creating a completely new VIN.

It does sound like it didn't come with RKE, and yes, the power door locks should work, assuming they have the solenoids and are plugged in.
At this point you are going to need to pull the door panels to physically check wiring in the doors to see if the power locks are present and connected. The doors could have conceivably been replaced or the locks removed. If the locks are present and connected, start at the switch to look for power and follow the wires back until you find where the power is being lost.
As for RKE, you'd probably be money and pain ahead to purchase and install an aftermarket unit. You could buy an RKE with remote start for less than the cost of OEM. If you do go with OEM you are going to have to have the PCM flashed by the dealer.
