Slipping when towing
I recently went on a trip and pulled a 8000lb trailer up a couple of steep grades. One a 6% grade and another 10% grade. The grades topped out at about 10,000 feet elevation.
When starting up the grade I would shift out of overdrive, then as the rpm dropped to about 3K I would shift to second. What happens then is when the rpm gets just above 3k rpm the trans starts to slip, not shifting in and out but slip then catch, slip then catch. Let the RPM drop to 3K or less and the slipping stops. This also happens when shifted into 1 st gear.
Took the truck to the dealer and they say computer says the truck is fine.
Tranny fluid is good and not burnt.....

What it meant.
The computer does not recognize the problem yet, and until it does, we can't do anything about it.
What you said.

What this meant.
Tranny fluid looks good and is not burnt yet, but when it does burn, then the problem will be so bad that the computer will recognize the problem, and it will cost us a whole lot more to fix, but that's the dealership warranty logic
