Worn shift fork M5R2 question

Today I was driving my truck as usual and when I put it in 2nd the shifter went about 2 farther in travel then it normally does and was stuck in gear. Took the top cover off expecting a broken shift fork and found that the 3-4 shift rid was hyper extend in 4th knocking out a plug in the top cover. I will post pictures of the top cover. I replaced the 1-2 shift for 2k miles ago and I'm suspecting the 3-4 fork slipped the collar from excessive wear and that's how it was able to hyper extend. I also lost a shift detent. See attached pictures. Is my hypo this right?

Yeah, I don't see any other way the shaft could have slid that far besides the fork being so worn it slipped off the collar.

Slipping completely off the collar and pushing the machining plug out of the top cover? No, but I know the M5ODs are notorious for shift-fork issues, so it doesn't surprise me.

Just out of curiosity how big of a deal would it be to swap out the manual trans and fit a C6 auto trans and utilize the floor shift hole with a aftermarket floor shifter?

rookie mistake the shift fork in question is the 1-2 shift fork. It is concerning because the worn shift fork is the one I replaced 2 years ago so something is definitely wrong. I just have to make it work till this summer with a new shift fork.

It was stuck in an exaggerated second gear, someone told me there is a role pin or something that commonly is misplaced that will let the shift rail slide that far forward?

So would a shift-fork cause you to not be able to get in gear at all ?

so I replaced the shift forks shifter a bit but won't shift anymore, had transfer case fixed up since mechanic said that was the problem, I put the transfer case back in, still doesn't shift in 2wd or 4L and won't shift forever in 4h, replaced clutch master cylinder and still will not shift, and there is no reverse in 2wd 4H or 4L, I have no idea what the problem is or why it won't shift in 2wd, I desperately need some help as I've thought of everything that might be the problem, someone please help me ?!?!?!?!

Did you put the parts back in that came out when the rail moved? You said you lost a shift detent. Should have a ball bearing and a spring in the hole and a solid pin that goes in sideways towards the middle rail. They are there to keep pressure on the rail so it won't do what yours did unless the shifter has been forced so hard the rail slips past the hole and the parts come out. Also you needed the plug that got pushed out.

yes, I paid a mechanic to get the new forks and everything back together, he even put new stuff under that cover, and it all only cost me a 100 bucks lol, just need some help as to why it wont engage in 2wd and why there is no reverse and it grinds trying to get in reverse ?!??!?!
