I got a "P054F- Idle Control System - Fuel Quantity Higher Than Expected" this morning and again this afternoon. I did a search and the only threads that contain the code are the codes lists and one guy who got the code but no follow up. I found a few instances through Google, but almost all of them said the dealers just reset the code. It seems to happen in cold weather, which we are having. Both instances were in the same situation, remote start warmed up then short town drives. No CEL came on. Anyway, I reset it and I'll see what happens.
Still searching I found this: 2013-2014 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine can exhibit a MIL illuminated with DTC P054F idle control system – fuel quantity higher than expected.
This condition may be associated with the powertrain control module (PCM) software.
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using release 91.04 and higher.
Thanks Larry. I'll probably drive it for a few days to see what happens. Since I didn't get a CEL I'll just reset it unless something starts to feel funny. I hate to take it to the dealer if it might correct itself first. It is under full warranty.
Unfortunately the closest dealer can't get anything right. You can look at my experiences with them and my last truck. I will take it to the dealer where I purchased it if the problem persists but its over an hour away and takes a little planning. I agree it should go to the dealer for any problems but I am more reluctant when the experiences with the service departments is so terrible. That is why I change my filters and oil just to avoid their mistakes. I don't want to make this a bashing post but it is just that simple. I know there are some great techs on this forum and they know what they are doing, but the ones I have to deal with can't seem to get anything right. It is a shame that everything that fixed at the dealer on my old truck was a result of someone on this forum telling me what should have been done the first time.

Let me know if you decide to visit the dealer for this, tracyclifton; I'll be happy to do what I can to help out. What's the current mileage on your truck?

Thanks for the help Crystal. It just rolled to 18,000. I have Torque Pro running any time the truck is in use so it will give me an alert if it issues the code again. I have been driving Superduties since 2000 so I know sometimes they just have a hickup and a code appears then it never shows up again after it is cleared. I'll update the thread either way.

Sure thing, tracyclifton; I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you need me to step in and assist.
Well after 2 days of my normal driving plus one trip out to the north end of the city, the code has not reared its ugly head. I thought about what I did out of the normal and realized that the day before I got the code I unplugged the bluetooth adapter and sent a vehicle health report. It seems like a long shot that this had anything to do with it, but who knows. If it doesn't show up again I may go through those steps again to see if it makes the computer glitch again and then I will know.
