I know I am new here and I realize that this kind of question has been asked a million times, but here goes:
What was the first yaer of the 300 I-6 and are they all pretty much the same, prior to fuel injection?
I know from my dealings with older Ch**ys that Offenhauser offers a dual intak manifold for the smaller I-6's and Fenton offers split exhaust manifolds for the same. Can I get either for my 83 300 I6, and if so, where?
I really dont want a V-8 Monster just yet, and am happy with the I-6 I have. I would just like to dress it up a bit and make it run a little better.
Offenhauser offers a few intakes for the 300 intake, clifford performance also has products galore for the 300. you can get headers from hooker, possibly hedman, clifford has dual headers I have them on my truck. Some people opt for the efi manifolds they are of a dual manifold setup cast iron but still two manifolds. Paw performance and jegs are the only place I have seen the offenhauser intakes. The 300's were all pretty much the same. As far as when they (ford)started using the 300 I don't know exactly do know it was around 30 years so something was working right. Hope this helps good luck getting your motor modified.
