I bought a bulletproofed 2005 6.0 a week ago (studs, aftermarket oil cooler, SCT Tuner, EGR blockoff etc.). A couple days ago it started having problems. It lurches and dies sometimes when I put it into gear, usually when cold. Also, whenever I accelerate it feels like the engine misses a beat and then everything kicks in. It has also surged twice now while stopped at a light. It feels like it is trying to accelerate when I have my foot on the brake. What could be causing this? Thanks!
On the connector is a grey clip that holds the three wires together , don't know why but it shorts out there , take the clip off and spread the wires if you see white in between , that's shorting out.
separate the wire with some electrical tape or replace the connector.
Check the EGR and EBP sensors as well, clean them and make sure they are not shorting together as well (right at the plug).
you can drive around without the ICP sensor plugged in for periods of time, won't hurt. Maybe try that to see if the bucking at a light stops. Then clear the code and go.

scan gauge isn't a good code reader, great live data. EGR codes are p0401-p0405. Low flow is p0401. The SCT is capable of turning the code off so the check engine light doesn't illuminate. Just be sure to check codes often so that something doesn't pop up if you choose not to turn it off or can't.
The scan gauge will read how many diagnostic trouble codes are present. There is an X-gauge for that you can program, how I watch mine... it's always one for EGR and one for a glow plug I have that stopped working.
Unplug the ICP and drive around... if the bucking stops, its the plug, connector or the sensor itself. Don't waste time or money on an aftermarket ICP, they are pretty much junk and last a short time only.
What is a mini-x? At first glance, your user name appears a little different to these eyes, brain is telling me something my eyes don't see.

Unplugging my icp currently. By white do you mean like worn down looking white and not a white substance? If so the wires look a little faded. No oil though.
A mini-x is a kayak I used to have when I first started fishing and it's my name on all the fishing forums so it's just easy to remember!

1 koeo ( key on engine off) take note of values
2 low ( just idling) take note
3 high ( 2500 rpm) take note
Post all stated values need to rule some things out before we do the big ticket idems ( Injectors)
What values would you like me to test in those scenarios?
Could it be the tuner? The guy I bought it from said it could need updating. My problems began to occur once I took it off the "strategy" tune and put it on the TSD super panty dropper. It does it on all tunes now.
