flat48f2, I have two sets of good front leaf springs. Looks like I'll be in St. Helena this Friday and maybe on Sunday. Get a hold of me ASAP at modelking2000 at hotmail.com.
If you are rebuilding your springs you may want to consider going with less than the stock spring pack(leave out every other leaf) , otherwise when you get done you will find it rides a teensy bit rough . my 2 cents
What a great site! Bought a 48 F2 about three years ago. I hadn't done anything major on a vehicle in about 30 years and really had no idea what I was in for. Just about every time I had a problem this site had a solution. Thank you to all who have contributed their knowledge.
This truck came without an engine, it now has a running 51 merc and a T5 transmission. I rewired the electrical system and upgraded to 12V. Never could find rear brake drums so I'm currently working on installing a Dana 60 rear end.
My biggest problem now is a broken front spring. I live in Petaluma, CA, if anyone nearby or not so nearby has a used one, 8 leaf for an F2, please let me know.
Thanks, Lon
Too bad you don't live closer. I have an F2 front spring out on my scrap pile.
