engine component paint types
I have a stock type of engine breather (the one that the hot air snorkel is connected with a flex pipe to the exhaust manifold) and after I clean it up I want to repaint it (blue, of course). The directions on the rust-tol-eum can says not for areas where it gets 200 deg or more. Do you guys think I need to use the "High Heat" paint? Or will the regular enamel work? I"m not sure if the breather would get that hot on a 360 with a 2V carb.

I know regular paint will bake off the heads pretty darn quick. I ended up redoing my heads with enamel and it still looks pretty good. If truck was a daily driver it would be toasted by now. Doubt that the air cleaner gets anywhere near that hot.

OK, thanks HIO. Engine enamel it will be. I'm going to build one of those rust removal tanks reallll soon!!!!! My hands are sore after sanding that breather today.
