Hi, I have an 02 Excursion, V10. It has the extension brake switch harness, with the fuses.
I had a blown 2a fuse. I have a brake pressure switch, that is still open. Has anyone found a better approach to the redundant switch?
If not, I would like to know an updated switch part #, and is there any reason I could use key run, for the battery?
Has anyone used a Bosch relay coils thru the switch, then battery to the cruise servo?
Thanks Artie
My cruse was not working so I started to run things down. My fuseable link harness was bad as well. I just puled it out & plugged the trucks harness in directly as it came from the factory. My switch is NOT LEAKING & I'm checking under the hood all the time anyway, So I just have 1 more thing to look at
am I understanding this correctly, A faulty switch blew the fuse likely preventing a fire and you want to get rid of switch completely but still use the systems the switch controls ?
No, I'm keeping the redundant brake pressure switch, for the cruise. Brake pressure switches have been used forever for lights, at 2.5 amps, without burning down.
I plan on a new switch, and use + ignition power to feed the servo. And keep the free protection of the fused harness.
