It sure would make a cool project, I think the Coleman makes it a bit more rare, but I think the $9500 asking price is a bit steep for a non running project.
Based on pics and description, it may be worth more as a Coleman parts truck than a project. She's pretty far gone. It's value as a conversation piece only goes so far.
In this current listing they got smart and straightened up the damaged third door. No doubt there's been a lot of guys inspect the truck given its rarity, and all so far have been scared off by the condition and asking price. Stu
Best place I know of to nail down real value on something like this is eBay. I'm pretty sure this was listed there, not meeting reserve, but I didn't save it to see what max bid was. Like so often is the case, the seller thinks rarity drives value. But not always so when facing restoration costs like exist here. Stu
I would bet the primary value of it is just the cab. How big can the market for Coleman parts in that tonnage be? For that matter who knows what shape they're in? But having the crew cab done, albeit rusty, would save probably a year of fab time.
a person could easily put 15 grand in that truck before its done and then $9500 or some where close on top of that WOW! the last trip i made to canada i went through sandpoint and stayed the night there. its close to the moyie river
Agree with Ross. The Coleman conversion isn't where the value is today, although it was horridly expensive when new. I know of two similar standard cab Coleman big trucks that sold for a song recently. Stu
