Feedback - Generic "Texas Edition"

I was doing some searching on ebay for some of those hanging mirror flags I saw they had a confederate one but was trying to find the original Texas flag and in the process came across this.

Texas Edition Auto Emblem New Flag State Truck Chrome Metal Car Decal MVP | eBay

I wanted to get some feedback on what people think of this.

I kind of was thinking of having this under and just behind my F150 fender emblems after I finish my truck but sadly I think of stuff and find out later on it wouldn't look right.

So please give honest feed back.

~Update~

I came across this one just now.

This one is actually quite smaller than the previous one and its just 3" in diameter which would fit better below the F150 emblem on the side of my '82. Might have to splurge and just buy one and see how it looks held up to the fender.

I would not put either on my truck...............I'm not from Texas

On anything asked it is just opinions and like butts everyone has one.
Get a custom one made "RS Custom" (Rusty S Custom) to mount under the F1xx one.
But as they say "It is your truck so do as you wish".

Thanks for the reply, I am just on a fence on this. This truck was built in Tx and been in Tx all its life. So I figured after seeing that one LS build on here with the LSX badge in the grill I started thinking why not do a my style Texas edition. I thought about doing on of the ranger star badges which I linked above and I think thoses are Toyota badges. But I thought at 3 1/16" diameter I could put it under the F150 but started thinking why not do one and put in the lower left part of the grill. But then I realized I planned on putting a push bar on the truck and it would obscure the badge.

I then started thinking I need to measure the height of the box in the radio bezel above the radio my original non clock bezel I placed a ford oval decal there. Well I stole one off a customers truck at work since we put the wood grain XLT one he wanted in. So I cut the clock windows out and I could put the round star emblem there centered if it will fit between the raised lines. But I am thinking if I do that then I still would need it to say Texas Edition on the outside as well some wheres.

I found some other ones that looked kinda cheesy but they are smaller and would fit under the F150 just like the old XLT emblems on these trucks.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-OEM-Chrome-TEXAS-Edition-Emblems-BADGE-For-GM-Chevrolet-SIERRA-Silverado-2UW/351500558638?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3De39bea82e0d84cc89601c8ae867402b3%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D351500558638

I will just have to take my time and think on this. As far as the opinions goes I probably will regret it but the opinions in this case is what would give me ideas that I might not have otherwise thought about.

I know I cant put it on the tail gate as I have a flareside and the tailgate has quite a bit of raised panel lines which I think would make it look out of place. Only place I could think of at the moment is in the grill, below the F150 emblems on the fenders or in the lower front of the door like modern trucks are doing. I kinda don't like the idea of the last as I kind of want to make it styled like the factory and the XLT emblem went under the F*** emblem.

I could also use these dash emblems on the outside they are small enough to fit under the F150 but I really do not care for the star making up the X.

All of them are peel n stick right?
If they don't look right heat with hair dryer and pull them off.

Not on my truck but a 1970 car I am doing, I have given thought to replacing the badges with decal type ones that are the same size and look (font) like the stock ones just flat.
I had that type made for the custom silver carbon fiber dash overlay I made for the car. The cars name "Javelin" has a tail off it across the dash to the glove box door and ends in a bulls eye. This was done stock on a wood grain overlay that you can no longer get so made the carbon fiber one. I have not installed it yet or even taken it out of the shipping tube but I am sure the person that made it for me did just what I wanted as he also has a Javelin.

Ford had a plant in Dallas, not sure if the truck was built there but there was a plant in Houston at one time and there was one in Dallas which still is standing but is a studio apartments now.

I never really looked into the build location of this truck just know that its always been here and took the car lots word on the history.

Now on the emblems they are peel an stick emblems.

If you are entertaining the idea of emblems, then you are obviously wanting your truck to be "set apart" from others and i applaud that. Build it to suit You, as a reflection of You.
When a resto is destined for Concours, I get it but...the reality is that most rebuild tasks are a direct reflection of their owners as they should be. What do "YOU" think looks good? As for me, i am incorporating 60's F-Series emblems on my truck because that is my vision, regardless of what other's might think. It's all about you.

Thanks for the link haven't seen any of thoses before.

I did find a pair few months back that were like new they were 1985 Texas Edition they said something along the lines "Texas Edition 1885 - 1985". I didn't purchase them because they had the "1985" part on them.

I been meaning to search ebay for some "Texas" emblems for these trucks to find some factory ones. Just been busy as I keep getting bugged to find a belt size smaller than what is on the Ford 641 tractor and the number on the belt doesn't match or cross to anything.

Correct, I don't want to go radical or crazy, but I do want to personalize the truck. That's why I already have made the commitment to installation of a push bar and bed bar on the truck to complete the "look" that the BFG 31x10.50-15 tires have given me.

Only thing is aside from purchasing all of the emblems I come across and actually placing them on the truck to see what they look like I have to try to visualize it myself and or make templates in the dimensions. I will be making a 3 1/16" circle template at work tomorrow just to see if it will look right on the fender or if it would be too big.

I like the Texas Rangers badge emblem style, but that is just my opinion. It seems to exude "Texas".

That's the one I keep looking at. Its not overly large at 3 1/16"diameter, but it was really ment as a tail gate emblem I will try to use it as a fender emblem if possible.

I like the "Texas Edition" theme for a truck that has spent 34 years in the Lone Star state.

I like both of the first two emblems, and the ones 1985 Bronco posted. I am not a fan of the GM style emblems; they look too modern for this era of truck.

I would do something that looks "Texan" on the upholstery too though, like a saddle blanket cover or leather cowhide seats, etc. so that your "Texas Edition" truck is not just a truck with emblems.

I will be having the explorer style seats recovered haven't made a decision on the material used though.

I also don't like the GM ones cause the X in Texas is a star that just seems out of place for a older truck.
