alright everyone, ive got a 1990 f250 with the sterling 10.25 in the back, the 10.25 is a non-floater open dif with 3.55 gears, in my shop is a full float dana 60 with a detroit and 4.10 gears out of a 75 f250. what would be involved in swapping the dana in? anyone do this before???

A non floating 10.25? Never heard of such a thing. But then I've never owned a '90 either so it figures.

Semi-float 10.25 Sterling/Ford axles were/are used on F250's under 8500 GVWR. They are actually quite common.

Take plenty of measurements - of course you know this already, but it does help to write everything down as you go. The spring centers are crucial along with brake line connections and emerg brake connections. Measure the u-joint to see if they will interchange - if not a specialty joint can be purchased almost anywhere. If the spring centers are different (which they could be) then wash the saddles off of your housing with a scarfing tip (low heat, small tip) and weld them on the Dana. Be sure to get the saddles on the exact same plane (angle) as they were on the original diff. The shock hangers could be different. You can also wash them off of your diff and weld them on the Dana. Sounds hard, but it is really not and I think you will enjoy the work. Let us know how it goes.
