Truck is absolutey perfect mechanically, needs nothing, all maintenance has been done by myself using Ford parts for its entire life (I am a Ford mechanic) entire under carriage has been sprayed with fluid film twice a year since new
Not to be insulting, but if I were in the market, yours would likely be the last truck I'd consider purchasing due to all the modifications.
Modifications normally do not add much, if anything, to the value of a vehicle. More often than not they will actually decrease the value.
You'd likely be much better off returning the truck to original, selling it for $10,000.00 and then selling all the aftermarket stuff piecemeal.
NADA and related sites have the "ivory tower" book values.....but local market saturation will drive that down......there has to be 500 superduties within 25 miles of where I live right now which drives the price down to the point where a dealer trade in would actually be worth more.
Looking at NADA clean retail is 12. Which likely means you could get 8-10k for it 10 being high. What you need to do, is go on auto trader, craigs etc look for trucks like yours and see what they are selling for comparing mileage and condition. Remember the price listed is asking and highly likely the actual selling price is 2-5k less than asking for that vintage.
Upgrades they do not add anything, your lucky to get pennies back on the dollar. Value is based on that truck in stock form not on your upgrades. Your best bet is to take as much of it as possible and sell it by its self to get your money back. Now simple things like running boards and tinted windows can add sell ability to the truck as people normally like those things, but doesn't necessarily add value.
To be honest like already said, stuff like this I stay away from when looking at used stuff.
Typically a vehicle in stock form will tend to sell quicker and for more $$$. Upgrades and mods will usually appeal to the younger buyer and will not net any increase in value to the truck when it comes to financial institutions. You may find one that has a wad of cash for down payment to offset asking price vs loan value. Most of the frugal spenders will want an 'Untouched' truck.
As stated in earlier posts, look at other trucks on the market and compare.
Yup have to agree.
Most go the things that you buy to personalize a vehicle do not add any value to your truck.
It will be hard to find someone that like all the same stuff you put on, and then give you more money for the truck.
Any vehicle is the absolute worst investment there is,- except for rare or collectible vehicles.
The average individual is better off saving all the money on items that they use to personalize a truck then when it is time to buy a new one you have a nice down payment.
How much did you spend on all the stuff?
Just incase this dead horse has not been beaten enough, your mods add no value and detract from the appeal of the truck.
People want new trucks, when looking for a used truck, what they're really looking for is "slightly used" and want it to be as new as possible. Yours will look like it has been thoroughly used and people will stray away from it....even the dealer! One in stock form will likely bring greater trade-in value than your modded up one
I agree with what others have said, and to add insult to injury the plow and all the plowing related mods won't help.
If I was looking I would see a plow truck with 150k on it.
I would think in my area (maine/new england) you might start at 12 and probably sell for between 8 and 10.
I'd just like to through this in! As I can't believe no one has said it! But a truck with all these Mod's probably will end up with install problems some where down the road or already have them! Why people would be more interested in a untouched truck!
I would like to know how the Fluid Film has worked for the last 12 years. I have started using it on my 14'. Second winter for it this year. Lets see some pics of this truck. Underneath as well.
