Need towing advice

You will do fine towing in overdrive with your setup. I have the same year model truck as you but mine has 3.50 gears. The last camper I had weighed a little over 9000 lbs dry and I always pulled in overdrive when I could. On flat land I could run cruise control in overdrive but when pulling up marginal inclines I could not use the cruise control. It jumped in and out of overdrive too much. If you foot control the accelerator it will not go out of overdrive until it needs to. I remember one time being curious just how good my fuel milage would be in overdrive if I did not exceed 60 mph. It was hard to do that from several hundred miles but I wound up getting 14 mpg. I only did that once, seemed like it took forever to get to my destination. Yep, you won't have any issues pulling in overdrive.
