I posted this on the excursion Facebook page a couple weeks ago and I was going to post this in the Florida page, but that seems to be a slow area.

I was thinking of trying to organize a group meet up in the Tampa Bay area and I was going to meet with the hotel this week to see what I can do there and what I can work out with them to do it there.

If this is something enough people are interested in doing, Ill get the ball rolling to make it happen

I was thinking the Saturday of the second or third weekend of April to avoid the spring break crowd.

There's a big flat parking lot to support plenty of trucks and vendors and conference room space to have a inside meeting area and vendor area.

If you're interested, please post below and if this happens, any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I could possibly attend. Would this mostly just be a members meet and greet?

Yup, that's the place. I am flying in so I will be in a tiny rental car and not my EX. We are sponsoring the Ives Brothers Wall of Death this year; so I will be hanging out with them and getting them set up to sell our products at their other events. I don't have a lot of free time at these things but I am sure I will be able to break a way for a bit to say hi.

I don't think the OP was planning on something this weekend as far as a meetup, I was just throwing it out there that I will be in town.

 

Oh no, I get it, I just happen to live directly across from there on the Alafia River. We get to hear some damn good concerts sometimes. If it sounds like a good time, we'll take the boat over and check it out.

 

The general idea for the event is to have a meet up at the hotel starting around noon and running for about 4-6 hours, depending on the amount of attendees.

There is a restaurant on site that we could possibly have them set up a grill to sell hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks.

I'd like to have a couple of performance/modification shops involved to show off their talents and to display products available in their shops.

I was thinking the april date would work since it's far out, but not to far out and would give people enough time to make plans for the event.

I can possibly get a hotel discount code for those that want to come in Friday night and stay the night or weekend.

The parking lot is flat and spacious so we can pack in a lot of trucks and support vehicles and set up some vendor/business tents spread throughout the event.

There is a pool for the hotel and other recreational activities on site to keep yourself occupied before and after the event.

So with that being said, I have a meeting with the hotel tomorrow and if I can get the go ahead, I'll post on here.


And if we can't do it at the hotel, we can do it at my cabinet shop, which is at the end of a cul de sac in an industrial park.

I should be available as well, just a 2 HR drive from Orlando... Plus have family in Clearwater to drop the MRS at.
