the 550's are abt $100 pair for 'kit' with relay
relay is $4
90 watt blue white bulb is $14-18 ?
10 ga wire comes in various lengths. See Summit Racing for colors. The top line at Summit, Pica ? is excellent. McMaster Carr sells 100' for less. Very industrial.
10ga connectors at the local auto store run $5 each pack.
and a 2' length of rod at the 550 diameter.
why not LED ? I don't know LED from LED. The 550'S were bought in 2007. Hella works. The LED spectrum is from say $200 a bar up to $1500 for the same looking/length assembly.
Leaving me with no grip and meaningless lumens numbers.
Does the Odyssey charge off a 200 amp alternator with the Kenwood roaring, 5 aux lights, and 2 halogen headlamps burning going south in an Arkansas thunderstorm ?
No.
but we can turn off the lights for an hour.

The Hella Conversion low beams are seen as normal driving lamps with Ford wiring. Hi beam is a wide angle WIDE ANGLES beam illuminating every deer, owl, ISS, limited by Ford wiring...17Ga ?
Low beam would benefit from a motor drive in load/gas and urban/country/desert. In town the grille is undone, Hella adjusted straight down onto road. Out on the open road, low beams adjusted for middle distance using the 17ga works for .5 mile.

I'm a bit lost to what this guy or gal posts about----I'm always wondering what we're sharing. Not bashing the effort, just a bit tough to know what we're seeing, how it might work for others etc etc.
Yep...you know most technical articles have some kind of end-point in mind.
I have no idea what this thread is aimed at doing, or solving, or fixing.
It seems to be a moving target. Various statements about wiring and relays but I cant see where the thread is going. I clicked a few links but some of them went nowhere and drive-by malware is always a possibility with this type of thread.
I installed Hella H4 E-code headlamps and Rigid D2 LED driving lamps and I have a LOT of good quality forward lighting on low and high beams.
That's all folks!
I'll post before photos, It is what it is...
with the headlamps installed what wattages and what's the factory wire gauge ?
how's the voltage supply using the computer at bottom page here:
