Gonna stop by mech tomorrow and see what he says, and then figure out which way I'm going, but definitely belt, tensioner, and then I'll figure out if upgrade alt and wiring are in my future as well
If at some point you have to replace your alternator, I'd suggest the 230 amp VT275 alternator sold by Nations Auto Electric. It's plug and play for the most part, you just need to upgrade your cables and ground the alternator.
I agree with Randy. Belts today go for a long time and I know of a few trucks that have 200k belts. For me though, the belt is one of the items on vehicles I change at the 100k mile point just as preventative.
I had 239K on the original belt when I replaced it. Still looked good, but I had it off to work on the A/C compressor and took the opportunity to put on a new belt.
Stopped by mech alternator is good, so don't need that yet did suggest to replace belt, so I'm thinking that the tensioner and the breather on my driver side valve cover, and then other then that I'm good, but probably gonna start putting the funds aside and do upgrade alternator and wire in summer
Thanks for all the advice
