I'm dealing with the usual tailgate rust on my 1988. I saw a repair panel somewhere that was about 9" high but didn't need it then. Does anyone know where I could find this thing? I'm trying to avoid swapping out all the internal parts to a brand new tailgate. Also, any other body panel resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have a magazine at home that does mail order and they have a catalog specifically for the Broncos. You cant view thier inventory online, just order online. I will post the web site so that you can get a catalog. They do have the patch panel for the lower outside of the tailgate for 39.99. I have gotten one thru them myself.
You might want to consider getting another one from the junk yard? Think they're called something else know. . . . . Anyway, if you don't get all the cancer out from under the repair panel, it will continue to grow.
As far as other panels, the same place (j/y) still might be a better idea. The same year truck doors, hood and front qtr.s should work fine - providing they're in good shape.
IMO
probably yes on that site; I have it listed + other body panel sites in my web site under Parts. Also, try a Pep Boys or other places that will order it for you; saves on returns if you don't care for it.
Others have used diamond plate; cut locally by metal fab shops or kitchen/restaurant suppliers.

these guys have it at a good price .I have delt with them a few times and are real good people ..get it from a place you can trust iswhat i say ..and i all ways use bronco people ..we bronco nuts have to support one another ..lol good luck ..
Thanks. Yeah, I saw that (and many other interesting things) on Motorhaven. Might need a door/door patch as well. I love this truck but I HATE dealing with rust...I'd rather blow a motor!
