I have pondered using the speaker opening in the dash of an old Ford as one big outlet for A/C. The idea is that you could completely hide the evaporator setup. I doubt there is enough room to actually do that, but you might get lucky with a small evaporator core, fan, and make your own box.

I was looking at that speaker opening last night. More like ducting it there. Damn you're good Fred.

Where there is a will, there is a way. I "might" have the will this summer. I have some other ideas. Just don't know for sure yet if I want to pursue this.

Concentrating on fixing my doors and windows and installing the wire harness.

I'll take any other ideas you's guys have. Just in case. Always schemin'.

This is what I did on my wife's 52. Speaker grill is the center outlet and there are two small black outlets at the outside bottom of the dash. I used a 53-56 heater control panel for the controls and tucked the evaporator up under the dash. Most people don't know it has AC.

looking through drivers side window. I'm doing some work so the shifter and kick panel are removed.

Looking through the passenger window. Had to tell it has AC. That little silver thing you see below the glove box is the bottom of the evaporator. The cowl vent still works.

Great job Mike! What is the evaporator out of? Is there still a flatty under the hood?

I live in the high country here in AZ so we don't think much about AC this time of Year. However, that will change quicker than you can imagine. Even taking the 48 down into the valley for Goodguys in March or November without air would not be fun much less the full heat of summer. Rimrock did a great job of hiding the AC, I did not, either way just figure out a way to get it done. You will be glad you did about June.

I still have the flatty but not in the truck, has a 2015 Mustang GT 5.0. Evaporator is a Vintage Air unit. Here is a link to my build thread that has photos of the evaporator installed.

Awesome build thread! I thoroughly enjoyed it and got plenty of inspiration and ideas. THANKS!

You all did a great job. I wish my wife would get involved in my projects. What a great friend pitching in also.
