On my highboy I have a Saginaw pear shaped power steering pump. The high pressure line goes to my hydroboost brake set up then to the box. 3 days ago I modified the pump so it would put out more pressure because the brake pedal wasn't as hard as it should be and my steering was sub par. I followed the instructions in the link below and made the hole bigger for more flow and then took apart the high pressure flow piston and set it up with one shim which should mean the pump puts out 1100-1200 psi. The brakes are amazing and my steering is way better. I drove it about 200 miles till today.
Well this AM I went to start the truck and blew the low pressure return line off the hose clamp and sent fluid all over my engine bay.... The flow coming out for the LOW pressure return line seems really high. Does anyone know what psi that should be at? Something tells me I need to add more ships to the flow piston and tune this pump down...
