Time for a Starter
#7
Some have had good luck with DB electrical. Online.
It's a crapshoot at the auto parts house, this is why when possible it's probably best to keep the OEM starter and alternator and rebuild yourself. It ain't rocket surgery. Some places offer "lifetime" warranty but they don't pay you for the time crawling around underneath the truck removing and replacing POS remanufactured starters. If they did, I bet the quality would be OK.

May have kit for your application. Looks like it. 35 bucks.

$35 for rebuild kit... Lookin' better all the time. They have YT videos showing how it's done, you'll do a competent, professional job the first time if you do your homework.
The price differential is why many opt for remanufactured, obviously. It's a good choice, assuming they have been built according to specification and industry best practices, competent mechanics, etc. etc.
That doesn't always seem to be the case. In fact, it may be the exception. Crawling around underneath a truck loses something over the years as one gets older. Trust Me. If I have to do it twice or even three times (it happens) because they are selling junk I haven't saved any money and lost a couple hours I'll never get back.
