I have a 95 F-350 5.8 a40d trans. The Y pipe needs to be replaced. No parts stores have a listing for a 95. They do list one for 88-93 and Ford no longer sells this part. Has anybody run into this problem and if so what did you use.
Your truck has an E4OD transmission, there is no A4OD.
Your truck has an H-pipe. not a y-pipe like the F150/Bronco.
I have no idea why there is no H-pipe listed for a F250/350 beyond 1993. There were no major changes in the frame, engine, etc. until the end of the OBS style truck in 1997. I am not aware the 5.8L equipped trucks used OBD-II powertrain control in Cali. like the 7.5L trucks did (1996-97) so it's probably safe to say the H-pipe for the 88-93 trucks should work on your 1995 model year truck.
Walker makes a replacement under Part# 40585 which would be a plug-n-play replacement since it has the flange to support the oval converter inlet.
Walker 40585
I ran into this same dilemma when I needed to replace the entire exhaust from the manifolds back on my old 1992 F350 w/5.8L engine. I used a Bassani y-pipe designed for a F150 and a universal 3" ceramic hi-flow converter. The Bassani pipe was pricey, but it fit like a glove since the a F350 is exactly the same as a F150 from a cab and chassis dimension viewpoint. I finished it off with a 3" Magnaflow muffler and a Walker 3" tailpipe designed for a Chevy truck. The only mod I had to do was bend the built-in hanger on the tailpipe about 1/2" to line up with the hanger bracket on the truck.
I called Walker about that part #40585. They said it wouldn't fit but they couldn't tell me why. I agree with you it should work. I went this afternoon and ordered it with the agreement that I could return it if it doesn't fit. thanks. Would rather stay with the stock part if possible,
