Nice to see that my Powerball plan is still an option, I just have to wait a couple more days. 1.3 BILLION, I would have someone design a alternator that never fails and then a custom bracket to have two of them installed in my truck. Why? because I could.
I installed the DC power 185 on our rig this past summer. It's helped in a couple of ways.
1. The charging voltage is consistently higher. 14.0 - 14.6 volts regardless of what's running.
2. The voltage at startup is 12.5 - 13.0 which helps the truck run better in cold weather. Prior to installing the DC my voltage was below 12 for the first 2 min and the truck really chugged and ran rough.
I personally had good luck with the unit I received and it's working great since day 1.

When I win the Powerball I see a custom 6.7L F350 and new 6.7L F-250 Ex conversion in a new garage.
I understand about the kid hauler, having 2 kids makes a car OK for everyday running. I have gasser daily drivers, the Ex is reserved for road trips, towing and handing large loads and I usually park it in the driveway where I don't have to move it around, my Durango (my son drives it) can handle most of the trailer spotting in the driveway.
