There is a Schraeder type tire valve on the fuel bowl assembly in the engine valley. I think most guys unscrew that and replace it with a pressure sensor.
So I saw another write-up that has the rear fuel lines keeping the banjo by taking an old fuel pump cutting the inlet and outlet off and welding together.... I have a few old fuel pumps so I may investigate that further... Save another 75-100$ on the project.
Well I made some changes to the process..... and the total came to about 660$ or so..... I will update when everything comes in and I can mock it up to make sure I got everything. It's all on order now.... I got impatient
Thinking about those oil pressure switches, I think they're designed to just occasionally power an idiot light with the normally closed contact. We're using the normally open contact to continuously power the fuel pump relay when there is oil pressure and maybe the contacts weren't designed for continuous duty. Just conjecture because it seems strange they all fail in short order.
Appreciate you posting about the problems you've had, no doubt saved me from some real headaches.
I never even thought of that... that's a great point.

Me too. It turns out bar none makes the banjo adapter fittings and sells them for 69.95$ so I went that route.... Probably cheaper than having the 2 fuel pump pieces welded since there aluminum and I don't have an aluminum welder.... Definitely less of a headache anyway lol

You won half the battle by thinking everything through and making up the parts list beforehand. I'm doing mine sort of piecemeal and keep changing my other mind after I already ordered things. I'm doing an EBPV delete, plus a turbo bearing replacement at the same time. But I think it will turn out OK and I'll be happy if I don't end up being the author of another "Won't Start" thread...
I will get that to ya, it was very simple to make... torch and a mig and drill a few holes....You will need to remind me...I have severe memory damage to my young days of heavy whiskey consumption.
