Hoping that a recent career change will give me some time to work on some of my projects, now if the cut in pay doesn't put them to rest permanently.
I bought this truck with known issues, hoping to make it a daily driver so that I can park my 53 F100 for a while to finish some work on it, but this PSD just doesn't seem to want to come out of retirement.

In this case there really wasn't time, was already wading knee deep water and rising.
I had replaced the GPR the day before and it would almost start, but wouldn't light off. Thought just a sniff would get it going so that I could get it to higher ground. Oh well, it now has the 6637 mod.

Would require graham crackers aprx. the size of a laptop computer, and a chocolate bar aprx. the size of a.... er... slightly smaller laptop computer.

Hmm, gets me thinking. My '85 IDI has push-on terminals on the wires that go on the two small GPR terminal studs. Makes disco'ing the GPR a two-second operation. Now I'm thinking I should cut the ring terminal off one of the small-terminal GPR wires on each of the PSDs, and replace it with one of those push-on (pull-off) terminals, just in case.....
(or a knurled nut, even. hmmmm....)

Wasn't someone talking about putting a toggle switch to disable the glow plugs a day or two ago?

Me!!!!!!!!! LOL I did it yesterday. I also put on a toggle switch to kill the E fuel pump. Now I can do stuff with the key on without those two things running.

Me too. I only put the toggle switch ON once in the morning, the first time I start the engine and then disable the glow plugs.

I live on a river in south AR. We park at the State Park where I work and boat to our house. The river was on a fast rise from recent heavy rains and the parking lot was going under water. It was either move the truck to the park shop or I was going to have much more work to do. Really don't want to fix a drowned truck when I don't have to.
