Timing problem

Hi all,

I had my 351w rebuilt about 1500 miles ago. Everything has been running well, BUT I took it in to get the timing reset at 1200 miles and it is out again. It looks like the mechanic put a whole new distributor in and it looks good. What are some things I can have him check?
A friend suggested replacing the conventional system with a light. What does that involve and is that the way to go.

Thanks,
ScottyB.

"A friend suggested replacing the conventional system with a light."

Can you elaborate what that is?

I think hes talking about replacing the points with one of those shutter wheels. It works the same as a pertronix, only instead of using magnets, it has a wheel with slots in it and a laser pick up.
