V10 Super

Is there any difference in V10 and auto tranny from 1999 - 2004 for F350's 4x4; are they all the same. Wanting to know upgrades and when Ford did it. I do like the early models of Super Duty though.

Transmissions are the same in those model years. The 2005 3v V10s got the 5 speed torque shift upgrade.

Thanks,Hope I can fine me a nice one owner used one, any of those years in a crew cab. My 90' F350 I just inherited is a single cab-460v8 4x4; going to keep it for sure.

This actually came up last week when a guy was looking for a replacement trans for hi early 99. Acording to Mark K. a former ford transmission engineer the trans in the early 99 trucks are unique. The 99 gas motor trucks v8 and v10 both had non pi heads and made less power than the 00-04 models just fyi.
