Main difference is they take a one piece spark plug. The Ford racing heads are supposedly the new design and can be put on the older engines. So I would assume fixing the electrical connections, using the new style coils and reusing original valve covers would be all that is needed. Please note that I said ASSUME, so I don't know for sure. Hopefully someone who has swapped one will chime in with some firsthand knowledge and I'll search around to see if I can link you any good info on this thread.

I have a 2005 f150 with a blown 5.4 3v, some one is offering to sell me a 2010 5.4 3v. I'm curious to know if this swap worked for you.
