So in reality a new Bronco II Although I won't judge it yet as we don't know anything for certain, I'd rather have a full size Bronco.

I'll be interested to see how "tough" the new Bronco actually is. In the article they did several comparisons to a Wrangler and even a Rubicon. As much as I'd like for Ford to throw their hat in that ring... I'm very doubtful it would actually be anywhere near as competive as a Wrangler. But here's to pipe dreams.

I'd love to see a ranger based Bronco. Take it back to the original bronco. The first generation Ford Bronco was introduced to go toe to toe with the Jeep CJ and International Scout. Funny how thats the talk again, to go against the wrangler. I just hope they get it right and dont give it some boring old "ford" styling or over price it.

My Dad owned a 72 Bronco, a 67 Scout. 1 of my uncles had a 74 (I think) CJ5 w/ a 304. The Bronco would go anywhere either of the other 2 would and pull a boat doing it. The jeep would pull a boat but it had to be in 4wd off road. The scout really shouldnt compare cause it had a 4 cylinder. Pulled itself great.

If we're really going to be talking about this, maybe we need a new sub-forum for the rumours?

Thoughts on solid Axle up front or Independent front? I'm not a jeep guy and never really check them out but I'm guessing they must use a solid axle, dana 30 or something?

I kind of think a narrow ( jeep) width chassis is going back to "true" Bronco roots. But I do understand where you are coming from.

True the first gen where built upon a smaller frame, I just never liked the looks of them I love the '78 and '79, and 92-6's the most.

I would give my left one for an uncut original 69 Bronco w/289 auto. Unfortunately they want the left and right for 1.

Did you see the last BULL**** this site is posting..
Now they are saying the "bronco"(that FORD has not even confirmed) is slated to have a manual. if the SVT lighting trucks didn't get a stick, neither will some mythical SUV that will never be built

If this new Bronco does end up being produced, it's almost certain it will feature an EcoBoost V6, and will definitely be based on something smaller than the F-150. For such a small market I feel it makes since they base it on a current design chassis from another vehicle. I'll have my doubts that this vehicle will happen, all the way up till the moment Ford actually confirms it.
