5th Wheel vs. Train

One F350 driver was not too bright and stopped in traffic with his trailer on the grade crossing, of course the train won: news story.

I've seen a lot of drivers do that they just don't know how long their rigs are.
One time when we were crossing the border back into the US from Canada and the line was backed up about 3/4 of a mile and I was stopped at a train track waiting for enough room on the other side and some jerk passed me on the right shoulder and pulled in front of me but he got his because they had cameras back that far and when it was his turn to cross he was escorted to the close inspection garage, the border guard told us they seen what happened and he was going to be there awhile.

They took that boy to secondary and torn it apart.

A move like that makes us think they are nervous and hiding something.

We were guided over to that area once crossing from NB to Maine because we set off the radiation detectors. We had spent a week in Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia and the granite there is naturally radioactive, our RO filter trapped it. They went though the whole trailer and Jami's spider plants had to stay but we got the pots back, they let use keep the radiation . It is reassuring that the scanners are that sensitive.

The train always wins. They should have emblems on the side of them that read come big or go home.

That train came out of nowhere and hit that fifth wheel. It amazes me that anyone can get hit by a vehicle on a fixed road. I could understand if you broke down crossing but not intentionally driving onto them.

Snowbirds bring a lot of revenue to FL along with some entertainment, unfortunately their driving skills kill a lot of people.

There are aging folks that should not be behind the wheel. However - as I have witnessed in the Phoenix area the vast majority of the wrecks around here are due to distracted driving and people just driving well over their heads (and speed limit).. You won't find too many seniors playing with their cell phones or their Infotainment centers out on the roads.
Their's a really good reason why seniors pay less for insurance than do people half their ages or less.

Makes me wonder if you were the poor soul who was being checked a couple years ago when we passed through with almost a wave at the border guy - but we stayed in Halifax and only drove out to Peggy's Cove before wandering to PEI
