A 4.0L question
My question is... with a narrow head endoscope which I have, what can I access and inspect while it is apart? I will not be removing the heads if the compression is even within reason on all 6.
I know down the spark hole I can inspect the piston face, but my scope does not have a mirror attachment to see the valve faces. I am looking for one online that will fit it.
Its been many yrs since I had an engine open and those were old FE8's.
In this 4.0L what can I inspect internally with and without the scope while the intake is off?
O also cannot remove the oil pan, as I am not willing to get into jacking the engine and replacing that gasket just yet.
I want to inspect as much as possible while this engine is open to evaluate its overall condition and wear. As it stand it runs strong and quiet no ticks tocks or knocks. The oil has always been changed every 3k like clockwork for the last 15 yrs so it should be fairly clean.
I'd like to know what is accessible with a 7mm bore/endoscope while the intakes are off. Thanks for any advice you can throw my way.
