And Clifford makes lots of performance stuff for various 6 cyls including the 300.
Thanks , I've been lurking around there for a while getting ideas. your right about Clifford they make some bolt on goods. But I'm rather limited because of efi. I prefer efi so I'll work around it. I've got a big build ahead of me.
So what power levels can be expected if you did a intake, carb, cam and exhaust? Im curious.... Sweet build btw I'm on craigslist looking now at them lol

You could probably gain a lot compared to a old carbed 300. I only did intake and exhaust on mine so far and got more power on my efi mainly helped it breath better.
Truck looks great. Some free horsepower is lost in your fan. Your spinning the fan all the time with that direct spacer. I replaced my old worn out fan clutch when my water pump took a dump, and could tell a difference. Even better, do an electric fan conversion. Also, I like the look of those filters, but.... That factory air intake is the same as a 460. It flows more than enough air for our little 300's. It also has the scoop that brings in cool air direct from the grill. I'm afraid you may have actually backed up in power because your bringing in hot under hood air. Probably not enough to ever feel, but on a dyno... I bet they sound good when you hit the accelerator though.

I might do a electric fan down the road. But yeah I could tell the difference when I put it on. That must mean I have a cool engine
I felt no change since I had the filters before the fan. I realize the old box makes for a good cold air intake but mine was too far gone to reuse. I prefer the simplicity of it more than any thing. But since I'm building it now I've always wanted to fab my own intake tubes. Or if I find an old hood I might try a functional hood scoop. As far as the fan goes the blades do flex out to reduce drag as you rev it , that's once of the things that made me go for it and the adapter/spacer. Would not have did that on a regular fan. Again for simplicity one less part to fail and I could actually have cool ac at a idle. My fan shroud busted up on be when the old owner let both engine and transmount fail. I'll make a custom shroud later on but it never overheats.I find if I cruise above 2000 rpm fan has no effect but it only shows when climbing big hills in high gear
It's been a long time since I posted on here, so here it goes. I've been busy finishing school and I graduated early this month. I since installed a led light bar and other odds and ends and I've been driving that thing alot.
I had to put a PVC valve in it after almost blew my valve cover gasket out. Ignition module, I blew a tire as I pulled into my driveway. But nothing to complain about to much. I recently bought my dream truck a 1961 Chevy Apache 10 swb fleetside 235/3spd that I couldnt pass up its definitely a project but I'm keeping it original
