Interesting (and a little humorous) that tiny speaker has the number 5150 on it. That's the name of Eddie Van Halen's (the rock guitar wizard) product line made by Peavy. Very big, powerful, loud guitar amplifiers with a 5150 logo on the front.
clock ticking on me , my pal is visiting somewhere in / near Chicago in Mid Jan and I need to get this ordered and shipped before. Ist week in Jan am travelling in France ( visiting the landing beaches and submarine pens ) in a rented RV.. so tight on time
I don't think another cheap speaker would work, if you examined the module you would see that the speaker sits flush in a purpose made plastic recess
Has to be OEM, plus It's a delicate thing and disables the whole system when it blows , so can't substitute.
Plus , in the UK we don't have a Radio Shack , the closest to it ( ' Maplins ' ) is staffed by disinterested unwashed who would all fail the Donald test.

You just described almost every current and former Radio Shack employe.
Are you sure that it's a speaker and not a piezo-electric device?
