You could swap between 240 and 300.

I put a head off of a granada 250 on my 170, works excellent, and runs way cooler, hasn't broken an exh. manifold since.(almost 20 yrs) Also has better power, plus the valves are compatible with unleaded fuel.
This head has slightly bigger ports as well as bigger valves.
Not sure bout' the 200 but on the 170 you have to switch over the rocker asm. I can't remember which push rods i used (i think it was the granada but it's pretty self explanitory as only one of the sets are long nuff.)
Allllso, had to drill and tap to put the waterpipe base onto the intake so as to use the original econo autolite carb.

Thanks...lots of great info. The 200 in my 65 econoline pickup has a cracked exhaust manifold...I understand the "cooler running"..., and also good news on the larger valves and seats (unleaded). What I found was the cylinder bore was different...the 170 is a 3.50 and the 200 is a 3.65....but you say a Granada head worked fine?.....what year was the Granada?

you can swap between 144, 170, 200 and 250. Some combinations may result in a less-than-desired compression ratio.

Dunnoo what year the granada was,
twas just the 1st one that i came across whilst walking thru the wrecking yard that didn't have the heavy duty emission exh manifold, you know the one that the outlet is as big as a tomato juice can, but i think that one is more common on the fairmont/zephyr anyhow.
s'far as the comp ratio, if anything i find i have nicer power band and smoother idling than before.

the Ford Granada, Mercury Monarch, and Lincoln Versailles were made between 75 and 80 with the 200, 250, 302, and 351 engines.
in 81 and 82 the engines options were the 2.3 4 cylinder, 200 six, 3.8 V6, and 255 V8
another option for heads is the 78 to 83 Ford Fairmont and Mercury Zephyr which also came with the 200 6 cylinder engine.
