Alternator only working sometimes????
The other morning I started my pickup to go to work and when I came back outside it was off. I jumped it. Watched the volt meter and it was charging. When I got to work I turned it off and I started it right back up to check if the battery's were good.
This has happened a couple times. And I just happened to have a spare set of battery's lying around. Put them in and nothing. Took the alternator out and had autozone test it twice. Passed both times. Took it to orilieys and made them test it twice also. Passed both times there too.
Some times when I'm drive I can see it not charging then the radio will die then the speedo goes out.
Today when I got home it died on me and I put a volt meter on both battery's. One was at 12 and the other was at 11.9.
Anyone have any ideas?
