Question 2000 X SPRING SUGGESTIONS

HAVE 2000 X WITH 250,000 AND IN NEED OF SPRING UPGRADE, BUT DONT WANT TO PUT NEW RIMS AND TIRES CLOSE TO STOCK IS FINE WITH ME. HAVE READ ABOUT THE V/B SWAP, BUT LOOKING AT FORD RATES AND BODY LIST SHOWS V/B TO BE CLOSER TO 3/4 TO 7/8 MORE THAN ROLLED OUT OF KY TRUCK PLANT. ANY SUGESTIONS WOULD GREATLY BE APPRICATED BEFORE I CLANK DOWN THE GREEN TO GET IT BACK TO AROUND FACTORY RIDE. TWICE A YEAR TOW 24 FT WITH ALMOST 12K 1000 MILES.
THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK:

Are you asking about better spring rates with minimal lift?

Oh, and turn off your CAPS LOCK, no need to yell here although some of us are getting old we can still hear

GUESS I SIMPLIFYED QUESTION. 2000 PSD X SAGGING SPRINGS LOOKING FOR MINIMUN LIFT AND AS CLOSE TO ORIGANAL BODY HEIGHT AS POSSIBLE, NOT LOOKING TO INSTALL LARGER RIMS AND TIRES. WAS HOPEING THAT SOMEONE THAT HAS INSTALLED THE V/B SPRING CAN LET ME KNOW AMOUNT OF BODY LIFT FROM FACTORY, IM GUILTY OF NOT THINKING OF CKING WHEN TRUCK WAS NEW. NOW THAT I SEE THE BUMP STOPS CLOSING IN ON SPRING STILL HAVE SOME ROOM BUT AFTER 250K GOT TO AT LEAST CLOSE TO SHOT.

Contact Jr. at ATS springs and tell him what you want. V-codes will get you about 1-2 inches of lift depending on your current springs. I had one of those mini add a leaf packs that probably ad 2.5 inches. With the v-codes in I am still at the same height in the front.

The info you found about V/B only being a fraction of an inch above stock springs doesn't seem to be correct (if that's what your first post was trying to say....?) based on the experiences of several owners here over time.
A PSD EX will gain about 1.5" of ride height over stock by swapping in new V code front springs and a set of modded rear B codes will give about the same to maintain a similar rake.
I made a cheat sheet to help illustrate the various changes from multiple factory springs under our EXs.
This is my Spring cheat sheet complied from various posts here on FTE mostly from old posts by bruce1954 and Monsta.

The following only applies to 4X4 EXs, the 2X4 rigs have coil springs up front. All EXs came from Ford with G code rear springs, the V-8 EXs all came with B (front B code is much different than rear B code, confused yet?) 4100lb, all V-10 EXs came with C code fronts at 4300lb and all PSD EXs had D codes at 4700lbs.
All the other codes discussed come from SuperDuty trucks (they came with springs that don't suck from Ford.)
Spring........Capacity.....Rate lbs/".....Max travel.....V-10 change.....PSD change
B (V-8)......4100lbs.......330 lb/".........5.02"...........-0.25".............-0.66"
C (V-10)....4300lbs.......350 lb/".........5.01".............0.00"............-0.37"
D (PSD).....4700lbs.......380 lb/".........5.14"...........+0.33".............0 .00"
S codes.....4000lbs.......370 lb/".........4.34"...........+1.22"............+0 .88"
T codes.....4400lbs.......390 lb/".........4.63"...........+1.42"............+1 .11"
U codes.....4800lbs.......410 lb/".........4.89"...........+1.60"............+1 .32"
V codes.....5200lbs.......430 lb/".........5.13"...........+1.77'............+1 .50"
W codes....5600lbs.......450 lb/".........5.34"...........+2.77'............+2 .52"
X codes.....6000lbs.......470 lb/".........5.54"...........+2.90"...........+2. 68"
W codes are from F-450s and X codes are from F-550s and other SD trucks with snow plow prep.

The above spring info has been gathered from posts here on FTE by "monsta" and "bruce1954".

And this excellent thread contains many user reports on ride height measurements from a variety of different suspension mods and some rigs that are still stock, great info to digest while thinking of suspension changes. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...easurents.html

In my opinion a V/mod B spring swap is a big improvement over the stock setup that is bottoming out on bumps in the road and the addition ride height gained isn't so much that larger tires are needed to look balanced.

August? That is 8 months from now!

You could have saved yourself the trip out in the rain, as stated at the top of my chart "all EXs came from Ford with G code rear springs" and "all PSD EXs had D codes at 4700lbs".
The chart only supplies information on front spring swaps, most Super Duty rear spring swaps involve some degree of modification to the spring pack as part of the swap. So with that variable added to the mix I don't think a similar chart for rear springs would be very easy to figure out. But the thread I linked to earlier does have some data on some of the various rear springs and mods and the amount of lift owners have seen from the swaps and mods.
