there tough motors. There's s guy over in the 73-79 forum banging off 12 second 1/4 mile passes on a stock bottom end with a cheap eBay knock off turbo. I think there's some seriously overlooked potential in these engines. My goal is a truck comparable to a chipped, intake, exhaust 7.3. My motivation: I tried to find a suitable obs power stroke. In my area all I can find is some kid that wants 10k for a bondo covered rotbox with a slipping trans and as much fuel as their budget allowed without even gauges to monitor things. Let alone any supporting mods to keep the thing in one piece. Same motor oil, trans fluid, gear oil, ect. In it as when they bought it 2 years ago. Enough led lights to light up Yankee stadium, sometimes obnoxious lifts and wheel spacers and such. I thought fine, if I can't afford to buy a buy 10k truck and spend 5k to get it back to something I can use to do some work then I'll build my own. I'll start the build thread once I have a bunch of pictures of assembling+installing the megasquirt efi. That's the one big supporting mod I need to make in order to start the fun ones.

This made my day, problem is its not just kids here in CO. Half the trucks I see the owner feels its worth 10-15 for a quarter million mile truck that looks like it has never had a good day in its life... Literally beat to chit!
