7.3 idi in a highboy?

I am want to put a diesel in my 1971 highboy and I told that a 7.3 idi would be fairly simple to swap in but I was wondering if any of you have seen one done before and maybe if any of you know what fuel mileage would be

there are quite a few older trucks with IDI diesel power in them here. pretty easy swap to do too. for mileage, expect around 15 mpg with a 4 speed or C6 trans, and around 19 mpg with an overdrive trans. these mpg estimates are for 4X4 trucks too.

engine mounts, trans tunnel(with zf5) and downpipe seem to be the biggest issues with an IDI inna bump side.
ive seen them a few times, and i like em alot.
too bad i cant modify my 71 F250 CS, 3rd generation owner and grandpa would roll over in his grave if he knew i had an edelbrock manifold on his old 390!

Is there anything you can do to get a little more power out of the idi's and how does the electrical work out?

Electrical is easy. Just swap your 71 gauge senders to the apropriate holes in the engine. Lots to do for lots more power. My 79 averaged 18.8, and got as high as 24.5mpg when NA, more power than the 400 it replaced with ed. intake, carb, and timing set

about the best bang for the bucks power adder you will ever find for an IDI engine is a turbo. second best is a new injector pump and injectors from a reputable company like R&D IDI performance, who is also a site sponsor.
