Edge Mini Spring Pack

I just talked with Donahoe racing regarding their edge suspension products. They just introduced a Mini Spring Pack that comes with bilstein 2818 BE5 and 2819 BE5 shocks. It raises the front end of the SD 2 inches and they say, improves ride quality. You should also buy an adjustable Pan rod bar with the kit. I am new to all of this but it looks like I can improve the ride quality of my 2002 crewcab, level the truck and save some dollars over their 4.5 lift system. Does anyone else have any knowledge regarding the Edge Mini spring pack? Thanks

If you want to save money, you may want to check out some other manufactures.
Edge are great products, but sometimes unesessary for some street driven trucks.

Maddog7,

I sell the Edge mini spring packs on a daily basis. They offer a good inexpensive method of leveling an F250. Unlike add-a-leafs these do not increase spring rate so do not adversely effect ride quality. This kit also does not require any additional modifications. The Bilstein shocks are optional and will significantly improve ride quality over stock. Please feel free to e-mail me for more information.

Edge Mini Spring Pack

Beware, I had the mini spring pack installed, had it until I rode in a truck with the 4.5" Edge lift kit. The next weekend the 2" came out and the 4.5" went in. Enough said.

Oh no. Super is going to 10"! Are you gonna do the x-over or just run 'er? I'm guessing no x-over or you'd be looking for some 4.5 inch hangers

Maddog7, I think the ride improved(4.5" kit), hell it could be I spent money and just expected it, just kidding it improved.

Edge sells a 3" hanger kit. Problem with a 3" lift most manufactures recommend 305's or 295's. Personal preference I guess.

I have the mini-spring pack and don't have any complaints about it. I was easy to install, but if I had to do over again I would get the adjustible track bar. It would have made the installation easier. I didn't notice any ride improvement as they mount under the spring and don't increase your travel to the bump stop any. No decrease in ride quality though. I have pics in my gallery if you want to see a truck with one installed.

ECM...Nice rides... Is that all you did??? Add the mini spring pack to the front and you have 4" blocks in the back??? Any rubbing problems??? Looks great.

Thanks CBSuperduty! Yeah, thats all just the spring pack and I had the 4" block in back. I havent noticed any rubbing yet, and I've done some off-camber 4wheeling with it. I also have the soft springs, "U" code I think.

If yours didn't include a drop down bracket for the track bar then those can be a pain because you may be too far off to do what I did but a good way to line them up if they're close is to use the steering wheel to move the front axle from side to side to line up the bolt holes. The stock shackles are not designed for a lot of lateral stability since they have a track bar for that.

That's what we did on my 8".

Edge Mini Spring Pack

The advantage of the Edge mini spring pack kit is that it is inexpensive, does not adversely effect ride quality, and does not require any additional modifications. The down side is that the kit will not quite level an F350 and as the lift takes place below the springs there is no increase in wheel travel so performance is not improved. The front end just sits taller which allows for the use of 295s on 8" wheels. Application specific Bilstein shocks which will improve ride quality are available as an option.

The 3" Edge Hanger kit is a bit more expensive but will not only level an F350 but will improve both on-road ride quality and off-road performance through the use of application specific Bilstein shocks and increased wheel travel. This kit will allow for the use of 305s on 10" wide wheels.

The 4.5" Edge Hanger kit offers the best ride quality and performance available for lifted SD. This kit improves ride quality over stock and provides 10" of usable wheel travel off-road. This kit also includes application specific Bilstein shocks and will allow for use of 315s on 10" wide wheels.

Another option is you can combine the 2" mini spring pack it with the 4.5" Hanger kit to achieve 6.5" of lift with amazing ride quality.
