I got my 38X15.50 R16 Super Swamper SSR's on Wednesday.. just trying to find the time to get some pictures taken. Work sucks. Hopefully this weekend i will get some posted! By the way, i love my 38's!!!
You could get away with it especially if you got an adjustable track bar. If not the front axle will be off center to the drivers side just a bit. I had my old 96 that way.
Donahoe recommends xover and the track bar relocation with his 10.5 inch but has done them in the past I believe without. Hirollin has 10.5 without I think.
I know it will work but increases the risk of breaking the sector shaft off of the steering box or so I'm told. I'm not totally convinced that it's not the big tires breaking them more so than anything. I read a post here about a guy breaking his off with 4" and 315's. If it will break with that lift then it could break from any??
If I do mine up to 12+ then I'll get it but I would probably run another inch or so without any changes. In fact I probably will go an inch or so by adding to the bottom of my front springs. I think it needs to be a touch higher in the front.
Take it from the king of *** (APENDIX).... I would have to agree with the *** on this one....
After 8" of lift go with a cross-over steering kit.... But be carful if you ask the *** he will tell you to get something from CHINA for your 40,000.00 truck. He like his suspension like he likes his ladies... Cheep and bouncy.
His suspension company "***" is really taking off and if you want your truck to ride like ***, He can help. If you get a chance take a look at his profile pics. His truck just SCREAMS "I'm An ***".
So it would be wise, but not neccesary to go with the xover steering? Also i would be better off with the adjustable track bar. How much is the edge track bar? Any differences between it and the skyjacker one to point out? thanks
Yes it would be wise to go with x-over and trac bar relocation.
I do believe that it is necesary to have with over 8" of suspension lift................FWIW, I am going to get it if I get an 8" or 10.5" Edge.
Although a lot of trucks don't run it and have over 8" of suspension doesn't make it the correct way to do it...................but it's your truck and your money.
Hope this helps.
