Lost my turbo at idle early this week un plugged the ebp sensor which gave me a 10.7 default reading but got the turbo back at idle. Ok easy fix. Ordered a new ebp tube and sensor. Wired up the new pigtail and installed the new sensor and tube. Truck ran great all day. Now I goto leave tonight and I have the same problem.
So I unplug the ebp sensor and I have a default reading of only 6.5 now? I checked all my splice pigtail connections and everything looks fine still. Anyone know what it could be this time??? Smdh!
Just to try and understand, how do you determine that the turbo is not working at idle?
How does it "kick off" and what are those symptoms?
Are you using live monitoring, sound, or feel?
Are you getting boost when accelerating? How many lbs?
I am monitoring live but at idle i lose the turbo sound at idle to where you just hear exhaust. I have a powermax so at idle it screams. I get hardly any boost casual driving or turbo whistle. My readings are showing super low ebp even with the sensor unplugged
I am at a complete loss, Turbo On then Off? My PowerMax does not scream at idle, it cycles as it should open then closed, what happens when you go WOT?
I would expect your turbo to work or not work throughout the rpm range.
What kind of boost are you seeing when accelerating?
You should see up to approx 26 lbs of boost at wot.
I'd expect to see a P0299 or VGT demand of 85% if you have a unison ring issue.
