Vibration while maintaining constant speed. 98 exed
Hello!
My Wifes Expedition started doing this 2 days ago. 1998 4x4 5.4L
While maintaining a constant speed with foot on the accelerator the entire truck vibrates, if you accelerate it stops, if you let off the gas it stops. It also has a rough idle. I repaired a cracked PCV valve hose yesterday (the one that connects to the back of the intake by the firewall) Didnt help, so I reset the ECM, thinking it would help, it didnt.
So its no longer has a CEL. Ive been driving it all over the place trying to get the CEL to pop again.
I'm really at a loss as to what this could be, basically I've replaced the entire suspension over the last 2 years and it has brand new tires (I only state this because everyone says its a suspension problem. its not)
Throttle position sensor or maybe more vacuum problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Sounds lik a plug/cop problem.
Last time the plugs were changed?
Mine would throw a cel when accelerating hard with a misfire, helping to identify which cylinder.
Maybe a fuel filter needs changing? Last time it was replaced?
Still could be a vacuum leak, PCV elbow on the back passenger side.

Have you pulled the driveshaft and inspected the u-joints, especially the front cardan joint?

Thanks guys, I was so beat when I posted this I had completely forgotten about it.
The previous owner was my brother in law, he did all the maintienence on it Ill shoot him a text when he get back.
